When it comes to skincare; tools, products & processes can all get pretty confusing. So we've tried to simplify them into 3 easy to digest steps in the hope you can implement some of them into your skincare routine, and learn a few face-facts along the way.

✨The more rapidly the dead layer of skin cells are replaced by new ones from the deeper layers below, the smoother your skin looks. Lifeless cells that cling to the surface create tired-looking skin. Simple.
✨Both the environment and the skin itself produce impurities that must be removed before the skin can benefit from any sort of external treatment.
✨Hundreds of tiny oil sacs just beneath the skins surface push oil up through the same follicle tubes that grow fine facial hairs. When too much oil [sebum] is produced it plugs up the pores and can turn black becoming a blackhead- which contrary to common belief is not caused by dirt from the outside, but by the skin itself. A pimple occurs when an infection develops in a follicle overloaded with impurities and bacteria.
So what can YOU do to ensure a good skin cleanse?
1. NEVER use your hands. The warmth and magnetism of your hands can actually push the dirt and impurities back into the pores.
2. After you apply your cleanser, wash it off with warm water and a thick washcloth, which will stimulate your skin with mild friction for a good exfoliation.
3. Cleanse TWICE a day. Many clean their faces only at night to remove makeup, but usually do not cleanse their face in the morning. As a result, they create a bacteria-loaded occlusion of oil, powder, and colouring agents over sebum and dead skin cells. The skin is just as in need of cleansing after a night's sleep as it is after a day in a polluted city. At night your skin throws off body toxins and produces new cells, which push away the old cells.

You wouldn’t slap on your foundation without a primer, right?
💧Similarly, moisturising just isn’t in full MVP mode without its super fresh sidekick, toner. It’s a must-do BEFORE moisturising & hugely underrated considering its importance.
💧Strong soaps and vigorous scrubbing will cleanse thoroughly, but they will also strip your skin of its precious acid mantle. This acidity, which maintains the pH of the skin, wards off bacteria and helps keep it smooth and hydrated.
💧Toners help restore the acid mantle of your skin after cleansing and contain acids and salts that refurbish the skin's pH, or its natural chemical balance.
💧When looking for a toner go as natural and fragrance free as possible. While alcohol doesn’t have to be completely avoided, a low level is ideal so as to avoid both drying the skin and encouraging oil glands to produce more oil (they will do this to counteract the dryness).
💧When applying your toner, the easiest and most ideal way to do so is with a spray on toner to simply spritz allll over the face (don’t be shy, too much is never enough). This way you can also completely avoid using your hands to reduce facial bacteria. Old friend moisturiser follows along nicely to lock in your nicely toned, & peaceful face.

🌸 The one thing you can safely say is a definite, always and staple in your daily skincare routine.
🌸 What you don’t realise? That moisturiser is one of the most commonly misused cosmetics on the market today.
🌸 The basic concept of the moisturiser is sound; it prevents the skin from losing water by sealing it in with an oil and water emulsion. It should NOT however obstruct the skin's ability to take in nutrients, eliminate debris, and breathe. Unfortunately, many of them do just that.
🌸 It is unnecessary and counterproductive to nourish your skin with heavy, greasy creams. These block your pores at night, when your skin should shed impurities and dead cells and cripple its ability to breathe. You need to find a formulation rich enough to lubricate your skin, without leaving a greasy film.
🌸 Believe it or not (but it is true)
A light nourishing oil consisting of face feeding vegetable (carrier) oils and lightly fragranced with deep skin layer lovin’ essential oils is going to be far less greasy as opposed to a cream moisturiser.
🌸 Why?
Because oil mimics the skin, sinks deeper into its layers, truly moisturises from the inside out and leaves the skin moist without clogging. Creams just can’t do that, they tend to sit on the surface. Simple.
